Alcohol and Fireworks DO NOT MIX!
Summer has arrived! For those of us who enjoy gardening, yard work, picnics, family gatherings, swimming, and activities that summer brings our way we are glad to see the warm weather.
There are times, however, when summer activities include drinking alcohol. The 4th of July is a time for fireworks and gatherings. An individual could find themselves consuming too much alcohol when at gatherings with family members and friends . If you are consuming alcohol don’t forget to have a designated driver to transport you.
Stay focused on safety throughout the summer. Drinking in the heat could cause health risks for individuals. Remember the big bang of the summer should be with the fireworks; not in a car crash.
If you realize you could have an issue with drinking too much, seeking counsel from a professional in the area is not something an individual should feel shame about. Confidentiality is a primary focus for individuals who seek assistance.
If you find yourself concerned about a potential substance use/abuse issue, contact Debra M. Marsh-Niccum, MSW at Country Serenity Counseling, LLC at (812) 667-2978.
