The Kentucky Headhunters and The Grass Roots headline the Stage Shows

The Grammy Award-winning Kentucky Headhunters and the Billboard chart-topping Rob Grill and The Grassroots are among the entertainers performing in free concerts at this year’s Navy Bean Fall Festival in Rising Sun, Indiana. This year’s festival, the 22nd annual, is Friday, October 9, 5:30-9:30 p.m., and Saturday, October 10, 10:30 a.m.-9:00p.m., in downtown Rising Sun and Riverfront Park.

Along with the free entertainment on the festival’s Main Stage, the weekend will offer a parade, Kids Zone with free activities for children,  rides, games, booths, and food with the festival’s namesake homemade navy bean soup to be served with cornbread all weekend in the navy bean soup tent on the riverbank. The soup will be served beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday until close and beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday until it sells out.
Not far from the soup tent is the Festival Main Stage where country and classic rock band Sierra Shame will open Friday night at 6:00 p.m. At 8:00 the Grammy Award-winning Kentucky Headhunters will take the stage until 9:30 p.m.
Saturday’s lineup begins at noon with Rising Sun resident and musician Jamon Zeiller. Classic rock band After Midnight will perform 70s rock classics beginning at 2:00 p.m., followed by country artists Cook & Belle at 4:00 p.m. Rob Grill and The Grass Roots take the stage at 6:00 p.m. This rock and roll band has sold more than 20 million records worldwide and is one of only nine bands to have charted 29 or more Top 100 Billboard singles.

A new event is being added to the festival this year. An afternoon of fun and entertainment for Senior Citizens will take place on Saturday in Heritage Hall. The event is being organized by the Waters of Rising Sun and promises to be a good time for all. Free entertainment will be provided by Ken Jackson Band (1-3pm); Bill Roth (3-5pm) and Scott Schulte (5-6pm) along with refreshments and door prizes.
All festival music and entertainment is sponsored by the city of Rising Sun and is free of charge. In addition to the free music, there is no admission fee for the festival and parking is free on the streets and in the lots of downtown Rising Sun.

5:00-8:00p.m.  Bean Soup/Corn Bread under the Bean Tent
5:00-9:30 p.m.  Murray Brothers rides – downtown Rising Sun
6:00-8:30 p.m.  Comedy and balloon art with Chris “The Bassmeister” Strutz
6:00 p.m.  Sierra Shame – Main Stage
8:00 p.m.  Kentucky Headhunters – Main Stage

Saturday, October 10:

10:30 a.m.  Festival Parade – Main Street
11:00a.m.  Bean Soup/Corn Bread under the Bean Tent
12:00-9:00p.m. Murray Brothers rides – downtown Rising Sun
12:00 p.m.  KidZone (free face painting, magic, comedy, activities) – Pavilion
12:00 p.m.  Jamon Zeiller – Main Stage
1:00 p.m.  Cornhole Tournament – Riverfront Park
2:00 p.m.  After Midnight – Main Stage
4:00 p.m.  Cook & Belle – Main Stage
6:00 p.m.  Rob Grill & The Grass Roots – Main Stage
1:00-6:00p.m.  Senior Fun – Heritage Hall
8:00 p.m.  Battle of the Bands – Main Stage
