The fall is a busy place in our Historic Downtown. We are closing in on one of my personal favorites, which is the Catfish Tournament.  I am amazed each year by what is lurking in our river and adjoining creeks. The ‘weigh in’ is the perfect opportunity to celebrate our location here on the mighty Ohio River and to see what the river holds. Hope to see you there! I will be the one up front hooting and hollering as they bring the big ones up to be weighed.
 

As I type this, I reflect over my first year as the director.  One of the things I am most proud of would be the Historic Downtown website (www.enjoyrisingsundowntown.com), especially our Photograph page. It works to showcase our many assets from businesses, events, location, and community.  We have also found it helps people who move away stay connected to the town they love. We have pictures from most local events such as the festivals, the county fair, to pictures with Santa. 

 Currently, the Historic Downtown Program is undergoing a new Strategic Plan. This is going to help us set goals that will leads us into the future and make Rising Sun an even better to live and visit.
 

Thank you, to all who have helped me get adjusted this year. It has been greatly appreciated. I look forward to serving the downtown and this wonderful community for many years to come. May God watch over us all, especially all the current military men and women.
